“The really important kind of freedom involves attention, and awareness, and discipline, and effort, and being able truly to care about other people and to sacrifice for them, over and over, in myriad petty little unsexy ways, every day.”
― David Foster Wallace, This is Water
24 years of the really important kind of freedom being celebrated today! Though, I find the every day, over and over sacrifices of care rather sexy, indeed.

the last 2 weeks ...
Leaving @ dawn
The grounds @ the Patchwork Quilt Country Inn in Middlebury.
Very accommodating hosts for my dietary restrictions!
J was thankful for flavored creamers. Coffee wimp :)
Beautiful architecture in Elkhart. This restored old theater was opulent inside and we couldn't even see the entirety of it.
Thanksgiving responsibilities this year found me only having to make mashed potatoes and green beans. I boiled the potatoes with Rosemary, Thyme and young celery, then drained them and removed the herbs and mashed them with coconut oil and coconut milk keifer. The 3.5 gallon pot was full when we went and had about 2 spoonfuls in the bottom when we brought it home! I mad 2 kinds of green beans - one with bacon and one without. Both dishes only had a spoonful left. So happy when my food is enjoyed.
We didn't know any of the people we were going to spend the evening with. C had been building a friendship with the host family for quite some time and they asked her if our family would like to join them. :)
The evening ended with the sweetness of music; guitar, djembe, violin and voices. They were all strangers when we arrived, but we left being friends.
Hope your holiday was filled with sweetness too.

Sorry that it has been crickets 'round here. We've had some big decisions & goings-on weighing on us and I haven't felt much motivation to converse (even virtually) about it all.
We took a short trip to Indiana to meet some friends and had a lovely, non-traditional Thanksgiving with strangers. That's about all I want to say on either event right now. I need to buy more storage for blogger, so no pictures just yet.
