The way home . . .

For the first time in over a year we set out for Washington ...

It's always such a lovely journey.

empty roads so early in the morning.  early birds rewarded with enchantment.
rising sun only emphasizing the glory of Montana...
 Sheep grazing in the lowlands...
Snow still falling in the hills...
In Couer d'Alene we make a side trip - James wanted to play with a motorcycle he'd been researching.
I stayed in the car with my feet up and took pictures.  The only way to motorcycle shop in my opinion.
We ate lunch with the kids at Thai Bamboo ...
I could have eaten all 5 of the appetizer salads - The Ginger Garlic Vinaigrette was to-die-for.
We arrived at Mom & Dad's in time to watch the sun sink into the lake, sip wine and let out big sighs of contentment - we were home.

In the morning more family would arrive.  There would be the hustle and bustle of tons of little kids and days filled with games and catching up and laughter - but tonight?  Tonight we were home.
