Times of Tradition - #1

Heather & I and some other bloggers out there are spending the weeks prior to Christmas posting the traditions that we celebrate, learning from each other & loving the growing anticipation of this Season! Join us!
Tradition #1:
We pull out our tree the first week in Dec. It's the same tree we have had for 16 years and it's becoming a bit of a Charlie Brown kind. Needles fall off constantly, it's bare in spots, but we love it. We come together after the tree is up and the lights are on and we hang the ornaments while we drink cocoa and listen to Christmas music. Each of the kids gets a new ornament each year, so by now our tree is very full!
We rotate years of getting to put the angel on top. The last 3 years J. hasn't had to lift the kids and only Minda has had to use the ladder. It was Cassia's turn this year. Our home always seems so empty when the tree comes down at the end of the season. Everything is cozier by the light of the tree. What are your traditions?
Tomorrow I'll give you a list of my favorite books that started some of our traditions!

We love you too, H. And I was envying all the lights you put on your tree - our poor little fella would fall over if I were to put more than 500 on! Can't wait to see the rest of the "Traditions"!
